Hope was my first Boston. I got her when she was about 5 or 6 years old, after she almost lost an eye. She walked by a mother cat and her kittens. The cat slapped Hope with her paw and scratched Hope's left eye. After a $600 surgery and about 6 weeks of recovery, the eye healed perfectly! After about a year, you couldn't even see a scar.
Her favorite things to do were eating and sleeping. She loved the outdoors! Most Bostons like to lie in the sunshine. Hope was no exception. She would lie in the sun for hours until she would start panting, but didn't want to get in the shade to cool-off. After a while, she would get up for a drink, then go back in the sun.
About a year ago, she developed congestive heart failure, but with the help of my vet, she lived until the night before Mother's Day 2010.
I miss her, dearly.
